STD06 is a single chemical entity, traditionally used for various skin diseases and wound healing. STD06 exhibits triple pharmacologic activities for tropical wound healing, namely, anti-inflammation, antibiotics, and matrix metalloproteinases inhibition (for wound remodeling). Preclinical studies in normal mice wound healing and Staphylococcus infectious cut wound in rats and db/db mice models with abnormal blood glucose demonstrated superior efficacy in improving diabetic wound closure.
A pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic study in wound healing on minipigs has shown that STD06 has low systemic exposure. Preclinical safety pharmacology and short-term toxicity studies are also on going.
